Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Office Location:

I use a lot of solution-focused techniques to help clients and families identify solutions (future-focused) and not dwell on problems. I use grief counseling to help clients and their families cope with anticipatory grief and death. I aim to create a safe space for clients to share their concerns and worries. I utilize a collaborative approach to help clients address their problems and explore solutions. I want to help clients gain a deeper understanding and learn coping mechanisms.

I have experience working with clients, their caregivers, and their families and have provided counseling to help them cope with the impact and changes that arise from a serious medical diagnosis. I have some experience working with young adult clients and helping them explore and address their gender identity, sexual orientation, and related concerns.

Clients have often told me that they feel heard, understood, safe, and supported. Many have voiced they have gained more confidence to try to overcome their fears and address their worries. They appreciate the safe space and validity I provide and the collaborative approach I bring to sessions. Many have increased self-awareness and improved their social connections, as well as, learned and incorporated coping techniques in high-stress situations.

Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD in Veterans

Physical injuries are easy to see and, therefore, simpler to treat. However, not all wounds are physical; some are internal or emotional, making them harder to diagnose.
