Ana Cuellar, LPC
I have the most experience treating anxiety, relationship issues, Self esteem/ negative self talk, trauma and substance use. In my most recent role over the last 4 years I have led or co-facilitated several group therapy sessions focused on skills training and a women’s trauma group managing symptoms of PTSD. I’ve also assisted in a few debriefing sessions with EMTs and firefighters who had responded to traumatic scenes. We offered individual therapy and training to recognize the symptoms of PTSD.
I focus on building a strong therapeutic rapport for collaboration. I listen to their experiences, and provide a safe space for clients to learn their thinking patterns. Together, we develop coping skills that can help them as they work towards their goals. I work from a person centered approach and often use cognitive behavioral therapy interventions to assist clients, depending on their therapy goals. At the end of treatment clients have reported they have a better sense of self, coping skills to handle stressors, and a greater ability to manage their own emotions and thoughts in healthy ways.
Past clients would say that I am very observant and flexible when it comes to their needs. For example, I help clients struggling with being present in the moment by using mindfulness and EMDR techniques. I would love to collaborate with you to find a path forward.
